The Netherlands
The Netherlands is called the gateway to Europe due to its
variety and frequency of connections from and to Europe. But also
the Eurolines international bus station at Amstel, in Amsterdam,
offers many (direct) frequent services all over Europe! Besides
Amsterdam, Eurolines provides bus stops in the main cities in the
Netherlands like Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht and Eindhoven.
Amsterdam
Amsterdam: Europe´s largest intact historical city centre, with
magnificent 17th and 18th century Merchants' houses, surrounding
its world famous canals or laid-back coffeehouses. The Flower
Market's springtime blooms or the Van Gogh Museum's sunflowers.
Amsterdam will captivate you. Friendly, open-minded and
easygoing.
Things to Do
Visit the impressive Golden Age Merchant' houses, along the
picturesque canal sides by laid back cycling or by canal cruise.
Some of the world's best-known galleries and museums are to be
found here, with an emphasis on the Dutch masters, Rembrandt or Van
Gogh. The Rijksmuseum with its collection of seventeenth century
Dutch paintings and The Van Gogh museum that houses the most
extensive Van Gogh collection in the world. Major attractions
include the impressive exhibition, the Anne Frank house, where Anne
Frank wrote her world famous diary while hiding in occupied
Holland.
The infamous Red Light District is characteristic of Amsterdam's
tolerant disposition, certainly worth visiting. The liberal lively
nightlife here proves to be one of the best around Europe. But also
a friendly sing along is to be found in the brown cafés in the
Jordaan, or visit hip clubs at the Rembrandt plein. Low-key
cocktails in De Pijp's stylish bars and classical music at the
Grand Concertgebouw.
